Hearing aid repair
Even with careful use and routine maintenance, all technology eventually wears out. While replacing a damaged device is an option (and a chance to upgrade to newer technology!), it's worth noting that many common problems can be fixed with simple repairs before considering a full replacement.
If your hearing aids are not working properly, please consider these quick fixes:
Restarting the hearing aids
Clean the hearing aids using a cleaning tool
Replace the wax filter
Replace the battery
Make sure the battery compartment is free of obstructions
Check the app settings
How we can help
If you've attempted to troubleshoot without success, our clinicians are here to conduct a detailed inspection to diagnose and pinpoint the problem.
The price to repair a broken hearing aid is variable and depends on three main factors: warranty status, the extent of the damage, and the cost of necessary replacement parts.
If you purchased hearing aids at Bloom Hearing and it is still under warranty, your repair costs will be minimal or even covered entirely.
However, repairing devices that are out of warranty or purchased from another clinic will likely be more expensive.
What is considered beyond repair?
-
It is five years or older
Since hearing aids typically last up to 5 years, devices over that time often face accumulating repair needs.
It is much more difficult and expensive to fix, and replacement is often recommended. In addition, manufacturers stop producing parts and repairs for models older than 5 years.
-
It is damaged extensively
Severe physical trauma, such as being stepped on or crushed, can render a hearing aid unfixable. At Bloom, we offer a 2-year loss & damage warranty with a $385 deductible for a replacement of the current hearing aid (one time only, per side).
If your hearing aid is bought elsewhere, please inquire with your initial office to see if your devices have a similar coverage.
